Operational Excellence Facilitator

As a business, we are currently progressing through an exciting period of growth and as part of our exciting expansion plans, we currently have an opportunity to hire a number of Operational Excellence Facilitators for our BBI Solutions division. The role will be based at our Global Headquarters in Crumlin, South Wales on a fixed term basis until June 2020.

BBI Solutions has served the global diagnostics industry for over 50 years, as a leading developer and manufacturer of raw materials and finished test platforms for the in-vitro diagnostics market.

The Role

As an Operational Excellence Facilitator, you will be responsible for implementing BBI’s Continuous Improvement activities that include, but are not limited to training, executing associated projects across BBI’s values streams and in line with BBI’s overarching goals and strategy.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to;

  • Responsible for developing BBI’s Continuous Improvement strategies by value stream
  • Responsible for delivering BBI’s Continuous Improvement implementation plans by Value stream
  • Facilitate Improvement events linked to the Value stream strategies to deliver transformational improvement
  • To train, coach and mentor internal Green Belt candidates in Lean/Six Sigma
  • To establish a standardised approach to Root Cause Investigation, Rapid Response and mistake proofing to eliminate defects
  • To drive, lead and support BBI’s Standard operations System
  • Implement appropriate Lean Six Sigma Tools to resolve constraints
  • Through appropriate Lean Six Sigma methodologies manage appropriate projects in line with the company’s Goal Tree / Objectives


As an Operational Excellence Facilitator, you will be educated to degree level or equivalent and in addition to be this be Lean Six Sigma trained in a black belt or above. Previous experience in a world class operation is also preferred.

The successful person will need previous experience of applying Lean Six Sigma techniques in an Operational environment in Healthcare, pharmaceuticals or biotechnology. Previous experience in planning, resourcing and project budgeting are also advantageous along with the ability to identify and drive improvements across the business.
